Sources are given with their address, without a link: this website makes no request to other websites. In the app, each row opens the source’s website.
DORIS pages and iNaturalist photos are never copied: the app links to them. Diving agency names and levels are listed as facts; Divefolio is not affiliated with any agency. Reference site data from OpenStreetMap (ODbL) stays in its own database and is never merged into your data.
Reference sites database (ODbL)
The reference dive-site database that the app bundles is a database derived from OpenStreetMap, with added Wikidata records (CC0) and Natural Earth country outlines (public domain). It is made available under the ODbL 1.0 (Open Database Licence, opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0), © OpenStreetMap contributors (openstreetmap.org/copyright). These are the files of the current app version, as the app bundles them:
- ref-sites.db: SQLite database of 4,968 sites (dive sites, wrecks, named reefs) and 239 countries, with their names, coordinates and sources;
- reefs.geojson: GeoJSON outlines of the reefs and islets of the Maldives and the Red Sea (Egypt and Sudan), 5,686 reefs and 1,008 islets, simplified to 25 m.
You may download, copy and adapt them under the terms of the ODbL (attribution, share-alike). In the app this data stays in its own database and is never merged into yours. These are static files: this site runs no script.
This website’s fonts
This website uses the same fonts as the app, hosted on the site itself: Newsreader (titles) and Plus Jakarta Sans (texts), under the SIL Open Font Licence 1.1. Full licence texts: Newsreader, Plus Jakarta Sans.
